scholarship application
it is our intention to use our scholarship program to offer opportunities to those who would otherwise not be able to attend a yoga teacher training due to financial restriction, in order to make our offerings accessible to everyone who feels called towards this path. we offer larger scholarships for members of marginalized communities in an effort to diversify the spaces we host + play our part in ensuring that all voices are heard in the yoga community.
many of those who practice yoga do not see their identities being represented by those who teach it, whether that be color, age, gender or body type.
our scholarships provide underrepresented individuals an opportunity to not just become certified yoga teachers, but also to apply their knowledge to create inclusive + equitable yoga spaces in their local communities.
who can apply
before you apply for a scholarship, please make sure that you meet the criteria below:
economic need: we are pleased to accept applications from applicants facing economic hardship (e.g. reduced or unemployment, unpaid care for a loved one, single parent responsibilities, etc). please be prepared to answer follow up questions.
ethnic minority: while we wish we could provide scholarships to all deserving + underrepresented applicants, please note that we give first consideration to applicants that identify as part of a minority group.
community engagement: we specifically seek to fund applicants who plan to use their teacher training to create new spaces to practice yoga in their local community.

Jen Sloan | E-RYT500
Blending safe alignment with intentional sequencing, Jen guides students to awaken to their physical + energetic body. Her classes are known to stir the soul, strengthen the body and calm the mind. Because of the transformations she has experienced in her own life, Jen has been called to share this life changing practice with others.
Jen’s intention is to guide others towards their own self transformation, using the various tools she has personally experienced + uncovered. Using her knowledge of chakras, yoga psychology, shadow work and meditation, she leads innovative workshops, yoga retreats, mentors yoga teachers and works with clients privately both in person + virtually. In 2022, she opened om shanti yoga as an offering of a physical space to do this work.
Lisa Luther | RYT500
My first introduction to yoga was as a student over 20 years ago. What started as a more physical exploration of my body’s capabilities quickly led me to develop an understanding of the emotional and mental benefits that accompanied being in a yoga practice. Now as both a student and teacher, I hope to show others that what you find within your mat practice, can be extended into the practice of daily living. The guiding principles of breath, awareness, discipline, compassion and attention to heart at the core of our yoga practice are essentially principles that help cultivate a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us.
