Somatica | an introduction to human movement

movement is life. in every form. movement in our lives has many shades and our ability to move defines our capacity to experience life itself. this is why movement quality and life quality have a direct correlation. movement from a therapeutic definition is defined as functional, non-functional, painful, and non-painful.

what are the benefits of movement and practice?

function and pain have an inverse correlation, however finding the perfect practice for you means exploring what it really means to move as a human being in all your shades. we are all born in a body but no one receives the manual on how it works upon arrival. physical Intelligence is the guide to freedom, function, and a pain free life.

Somática is a field within bodywork and movement studies which emphasizes internal physical perception and experience. the term is used in movement therapy to signify approaches based on the soma, or "the body as perceived from within”.

join Justin White for this introductory workshop that will explore the capacity to release tension and postural distortions by exploring grounded movement patterns.

about Justin

NASM CES, NASM CPT, YA RYT 200HR

I have been an avid student of human movement for as long as I can remember. From the time I was three years old, I have been actively engaged in some type of formal athletic training. To this day, I live an intensively physical life: I skateboard, walk tightropes, practice yoga, do acrobatics, hike, practice the Ido Portal method, and train in calisthenics. My expertise is in the field of neuromuscular repatterining and human performance. I had the pleasure of functioning as head of functional rehabilitation 2019-2021 at North Florida Rehab and Chiropractic. My experience as a Physician’s Assistant to chiropractors, Dr. Laura McChesney and Dr. MichaelLiuzzo, in Gainesville offered a fantastic immersion in post-surgical functional rehabilitation.
