This three-hour workshop will explore relevant anatomical features of the hip. It will include the body's four tissue types: connective tissue (bone, fascia, ligament, joint capsule, and tendon), muscle, nerve, and endothelial. The workshop will also explore the implications of these tissues for Asana practice, including the self-identification of desired and undesired sensations during poses, the concept of segmental differentiation, and whole-body interconnectedness.
A greater understanding of anatomical feedback, through understanding the intention of a pose and paying attention to the body experience, will allow workshop attendees to deepen their practice by backing off, deepening, and/or modifying postures. Additionally, this will foster Yoga teachers' understanding while facilitating movement during a class. CEU credits are available for Yoga teachers through Yoga Alliance.
*Cancellation policy—all payments are non-refundable. Receive a credit back to your account to use towards future offerings if you cancel at least 48 hours from the start of the workshop. Cancellations made within 48hrs of the event will not receive credit. No-shows will not receive credit.
